This week in 2006 we were on location at a residential education center for kids who are wards of the state.
About 10 years ago Fran and I took the boys to watch Sam's baseball game.
I've been shooting a ton of personal work and a ton of work for clients and a ton of work that isn't really personal work per se, but more like me just making pictures because that's what I do. The last six months have been all over the place; A few school libraries, a huge ad for a bank, a personal project of families wresting, Maxwell and Jackson's trampoline, a big annual report, execs on a seamless, my favorite gym (and trainer), a cross country train ride, Tempe... I know I'm supposed to really focus and shoot one kind of thing really well... but this career is so much more fun shooting all over the place. Here's a gallery of some favorite new photographs. It's called "new". Everything's from the last six months or so.
I walked down Hollis street to Yuzu Ramen. I'm moving studios soon. I'll miss this walk. I like the way the light hits these flowers.
We wondered what would happen when we photographed everyone doing flips on the trampoline with the sprinkler on and all the strobes firing at once.
These three kids lost their father in the 9/11 attacks. I made this photograph five years later.
